Fair play on car Insurance

Just did a quote for Zac on a 1 litre nissan micra valued at £500... the cheapest quote was £5003 from admiral( ten times the value of the vehicle and when you consider that the average car on the road is valued at under £5000 this doesn't add up).
The UK has a good record for road safety compared with most other EU countries. In 2006 it had one of the lowest road death rates in the EU, at 5.4 per 100,000 population. The UK rate was also lower than the rates for other industrialised nations such as the United States (14.3 per 100,000 population), Australia (7.8 per 100,000 population) and Japan (5.7 per 100,000 population) source : http://www.statistics.gov.uk Insurance firms keep telling us premiums have to go up because of this and that and banging on about that the 17yr - 25yr bracket is high risk ( not rocket science). Last year Aviva made £1.27 billion profits in the first half of the year
and thats one company.I don't hear them banging on about that. source : http://uk.reuters.com/article/…/08/05/idUKPTIP42000220100805 If its illegal to drive without insurance it should be illegal to load premiums so there unaffordable for whoever needs them. This is why there are an estimated 1 in 20 people in the UK uninsured or incorrectly insured (the old policy fibs don't pay out). source : http://www.mib.org.uk/Motor+Insurance+Database/…/default.htm I changed the quote from Mr to miss and the quote dropped to £2001,from admiral. So Ive suggested to him to get a free sex change on the NHS save himself £3000 a year until he's 25 then swap back with 8 yrs no claims discount.
