JOHN W. MORLEY, II, Annual Memorial Golf Tournament

On January 30, 2008, JOHN WESLEY MORLEY, II, of Spotsylvania, VA, unexpectedly passed away on his 37th birthday as the result of a sudden pulmonary embolism.

"John John" grew up in Waverly Village and in 1989, graduated from Courtland High School in Spotsy Co, VA. While at CHS, he lovingly earned the nickname “Morrock" and made many great memories there, both on & off the Cougar's football field. John continued his education and graduated in 1993 from East Tennessee State University, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. At the time of his passing, John was employed by the Rappahannock Area Health District as the Environmental Health Supervisor for both Spotsy & Caroline counties.

John is survived by many who loved him including his devoted wife, Nicky Self Morley; and their three beautiful sons, Benjamin, age 7; Luke, age 4; and Bradford, 5-months. A loving father & husband, John was dedicated to his children & his wife. The family enjoyed attending high school sporting events and playing front yard football. John left his family with many cherished memories...

Also surviving John are his loving parents, John & Ruby Morley; sisters, Cathy Morley Childers and Sandy Morley Elliott & her fiancé, Scott Barber; sister-in-law, Kimberly Self Elliott & her husband, Charles; brother-in-law, Jason Self; father-in-law, Thomas Self; and a host of extended family members.

John was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, son-in-law, brother-in-law, friend, colleague, neighbor & more. He was a kind & generous person and we seek comfort in knowing he gave the “Gift of a Lifetime” by being an organ & tissue donor.
