A huge part of the SAAFL (South Australian Amatuer Football League).

The prestigious 'Glenunga Football Club' was formed from the old Sturt League
'C' team and it was this affiliation with Sturt which saw the Club compete in an
A1 grand final in 1978.

When the Commonwealth Bank club disbanded in 1957, Hyde Park acquired the
lease of Webb Oval from the Burnside Council and shared it with Gartrell Memorial
who played in the United Church Association.

The changing-rooms were modified in 1974 to put in a small licensed bar and patio,
then the present complex was constructed in 1984.

The Club record holder for games played is SAAFL Chairman and Life Member John
Dicker who played 400 games.
