Universitas Negeri Jakarta

Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), the State University of Jakarta, is the only state university located in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. It has over 14,000 students from all over the country and a number of exchange students from Korea and Malaysia. This number is growing, in line with the development and expansion of the university's facilities and services. There are currently 860 academic staff, among them 100 full professors, 80 with PhD's and several hundred Masters-degree holders from prominent local and overseas universities.

UNJ campuses are in East and South Jakarta. The main campuses, Campus A and Campus B, are in the Rawamangun area in East Jakarta, within walking distance from each other. Both of those campuses are on the main roads Jalan Daksinapati and Jalan Pemuda, not far from the Cawang-Tanjung Priok toll road exit, and accessible by various public transport. Travelling from the Sukarno-Hatta airport to both campuses will take you past traditional supermarkets and hypermarkets, and, in case you need it, to the Persahabatan Hospital. The National Centre for Languages, with its extensive library on the languages of the archipelago, is also next door to Campus A. Campus B boasts modern sport facilities, a well-equipped health centre and gym.

Three more campuses are in Jalan Halimun, Jalan K.H. Achmad Dahlan, and Jalan Setiabudi, in South Jakarta. Each one can be easily reached by public transport.

The number of campuses reflects UNJ's belief that 'Small is beautiful', thereby prioritizing both culturally and aesthetically balanced learning environments.
