Save the Woolgoolga WW1 Memorial Group

This site has been created in order to save and re-erect the original WW1 Woolgoolga War memorial. The Memorial had been an integral part of Woolgoolga since 1922, when it was erected through funds raised by the families of Woolgoolga’s fallen Diggers and the generosity of the Woolgoolga community. In 2001, after 79 years, this unique memorial was cast aside to make way for an extension to the existing Woolgoolga RSL services club. The memorial has since been sitting in storage, thankfully saved from Land fill by the generosity and foresight of the Younger Family (descendants of WW1 Soldiers). We now want to restore the memorial to its former glory and place it rightfully in a permanent and significant position within Woolgoolga. Join us to fight to maintain our history.
