Eastern Iowa Honor Flight

EIHF remains focused on our most senior Vets first and accept all applications from any Veteran from any era. Terminally Ill Vets and WWII Vets are moved to the front of the line and assigned the first available seat. Our Korea era Vets take just over a year to get onto a flight. Our Vietnam Vets are estimated to have to wait 4-5 years, until we get through the large number of Korea Veterans. Vets that have served after the Vietnam era are welcome to apply but it will be quite some time before we get to those Heroes.
We plan four (4) flights per year. Our flight months are April, May, September and October. If you know of a Veteran that wishes to go, please help us by getting their application submitted as soon as possible as there is a long waiting list to get Vets on a flight!
“We can’t all be heroes. Some of us have to stand on the curb and clap as they go by.” - Will Rogers
The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to honor America’s Veterans for their duty and sacrifices. We transport our Heroes to Washington D.C. via chartered aircraft to visit their respective memorials and reflect on memories of times often long past. It is a day of celebration and remembrance for each individual, whether Veteran, Volunteer or Staff member.
