Hyderabad, once known as Bhagyanagaram (City of Fortune), is the... capital city and most populous city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The city of Hyderabad has grown to merge surrounding urban nodes taking its estimated population to above 7 million. The city thus has been classified as an A-1 status city joining the list of other A-1 cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore.
