Oxford Grad JSoc

We are a Jewish social group for young professionals, graduate students, and anyone else who feels that it's for them. In practice we generally cater for the 20s-30s age group, though that's a guide rather than a rule.

Our main activity is weekly Friday night vegetarian potluck dinners, held usually in people's homes or colleges. There's kiddush at the beginning of the evening, and we usually begin around 8pm (later in summer) to allow people time to get there from shul. The Friday night crowd draws people from many different Jewish denominations and backgrounds, and is open to all, whether religious or secular. Efforts are made to cater for all varieties of Jewish belief. We welcome all those who are interested, whether or not affiliated with a university.

We aim to have Friday nights every week in term-time, and also out of term-time if people volunteer to host.

The group also has drinks evenings on weekdays around twice a term, in a bar in town.

The group is friendly with the student-run Oxford University Jewish Society (JSoc), and has the following page on the JSoc Web site: http://www.oxfordjsoc.co.uk/graduates.php

News of our activities is sent out in a weekly email. To be added to the mailing list, or for more information, please contact: [email protected]
