Edgings & Inchings (previously IR)

Poetry is alive and well in Hartford!

Join us at Real Art Ways the second Wednesday of every month for Edgings & Inchings (previously Inescapable Rhythms), Hartford's poetry reading and open mic series.

Here's how this works:

< show up early for a drink and/or snacks >

First, a featured poet reads gives a half hour reading (7:00 ish)...

< wine and mingle break >

...then we have an open mic (8:00 ish), in which members of the audience are invited to share their work.

< more wine and more mingling >

The series takes its title from the Wallace Stevens poem, "An Ordinary Evening in New Haven." Stevens was a major American Modernist poet and a badass Hartford resident.

Past Readers Include: Michael Schiavo, Andrea Henchey, Kristin Kostick, Meghan Maguire Dahn, Adam Golaski, Deborah Poe, Matthew Klane, Lea Banks, Roger Bonair Agard, Ravi Shankar, and Dan Pope.
