Royston Folk Club

After a 30 year hibernation Royston Folk Club was re-started in March 2012 by Mike Farrow with an eclectic and entertaining musical mix. You will find modern singer songwriters, story telling vocals, through trad folk tunes, blues, blue grass, country, and instrumentalists and even foot stomping dance groups. In fact even the odd electric bass or well tempered electric guitars wont get turned away. Specially if your name is Mark Knopfler.

Open Mic nights are great at just £4 entry to see amazing talent 'break' new songs, new groups, along side old friends with favorite songs and instrumentals. There are spots for six performers, single or duo plus two groups each month with two songs before the break and two songs after the break. Larger groups have spots for four songs with one group before the break and one group to finish the night. Chris mixes sound to enhance and balance aiming to achieve recording quality.

Concerts are a two hour set from the headline group or performer plus an hour from support mostly "discovered' at our Open Mic nights.

Mark and Chris don't intend to make any changes.
"Its a great formula" ... Mark Gammon
