The Lynyrd Skynyrd Union

Hi, and welcome to the group for real southern rockers and fans of the world famous southern rock, and rock n roll band way down south, Lynyrd Skynyrd.

When Lynyrd Skynyrd first got together in 1964
(that you can read about
along with rest of their history
on the official Lynyrd Skynyrd website
http://www.lynyrdskynyrd.com/bandhistory.php)
was a band who should write themself straight into the rock history!

Ronnie Van Zant was the soul of the band, Allen Collins, one of the greatest guitarists ever! was the leading heart.
and just think about how awesome the sound of Allen Collins Gibson Firebird, ED' Kings stratocaster and Gary Rossingtons Les Paul, also known as "Bernice" sounded back in the 70's!

And then we have Ronnie Van Zant, what a great singer,
he was the real soul of this southern rock band! and he will always be remembered as a "son of the south"

Lynyrd Skynyrd have been writing so many good songs,
like Sweet Home Alabama, known as the southern man's prayer! and let us never forget the rock and roll national anthem "Freebird" that Allen Collins writed when he was just 18 years old, and dont forget that Gary Rossington wrote the end!

Sweet Home Alabama, has a incredible story to,
like the solo that ED' King, dreamed, and has never dreamed a song or a solo again.
the band had alot of fun with Sweet Home Alabama,
and laughed alot when they writed the lyrics for it!

And again, deserve Gary Rossington some credit for this song to!, he made up the
chords, D-C-G, and ED' King maked the riffs
known as the beginning!

Freebird has a story to, the song reminds maybe of a beautiful love-song, but its a song dedicated to Ronnie Van Zants friend, from the Allman Brothers, Duane Allman, who was killed in a motorcyle accident in 1971 when he was only 24 years old.
