Badass Parents Association

We are here to say to the powers-that-be that we have had enough of watching our children, their teachers and our schools suffer through the monstrosity of what is called, "The Common Core"!

We will no longer sit back and watch as High Stakes Testing consumes our children's desire to learn, consumes valuable class time, destroys the teacher-student relationship, burns out our teachers and wastes billions of our tax dollars!

We will no longer watch as our schools, the ones built by us, our parents and their parents before them are arbitrarily shutdown and the buildings taken over by greedy corporations owned by political campaign donors.

We will no longer accept the wholesale theft and distribution of our children's school, medical and family information to 3rd party NGO's and for-profit corporations against our will. Above all else, this "data collection" is the greatest affront to the well being of our children and their future as it not only exposes them to identity thieves, but also to the most reviled scum who would do them physical harm.

We are Badass and we are strong! We will no longer remain silent and "No" is not an answer we shall accept!

In 1941, after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto of the Imperial Japanese Navy was quoted as saying, "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

Those words shall now be spoken again by those who dared steal our children's smiles and decimated our schools!

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time to be.... BADASS!!!

Addendum: We have a very diverse group of people from a wide variety of political persuasions. It is my intention that this remain so. The issues addressed are to be strictly Common Core and School related. When posting and commenting, it is of the utmost importance that we keep this in mind as, over the course of this movement to defeat CCSS, we will need to make alliances across this broad political spectrum. It is a high priority goal of this group to facilitate a "Multipartisan" political alliance whose purpose is to restore local control over education policy and curriculum.

So, any extraneous topics are to be avoided unless they are part of the larger CCSS picture and relevant to that point. There is, however, the chat feature in which 2 or more people may discuss other issues within the group forum. Please use this feature wisely and respectfully. As for non-CCSS related postings, they are subject to administrative deletion by the administrative staff.

Above all, try to remain respectful towards those who you agree or disagree with! As Badasses, we are very vocal and very passionate, so we must be careful to be "Badasses" and NOT "Bad Asses"!

"Bad Asses" will be warned, censured and/or permanently blocked from the group for excessive violations.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
