Meditation-Awareness-Satori

This group is dedicated to the enrichment that meditation, awareness and Satori (enlightenment) will bring to your life. The world today needs people that are willing to develop in themselves and help others who have a need to know these three corner stones. By embracing these three aspects of personal well being wholeheartedly, you can peel back the layers of the onion and experience your "true nature".

MEDITATION describes a state of concentrated attention on some object of thought or awareness.

It usually involves turning the attention inward to a single point of reference. The benefits of the practice can engender a higher state of altered consciousness.

AWARENESS can be considered a natural extension of meditation. Not just any awareness though, but a heightened state of awareness. Awareness is a term referring to the ability to perceive, to feel, or to be conscious of events, objects or patterns, which does not necessarily imply understanding. When we meditate we can develop a state of being more aware, knowledgeable or conscious of something than we were before. Thus consistent meditation practice can bring deeper contemplation and thus profound understanding. This will inevitably lead to being aware of one’s awareness or, self-awareness e.g. “Who is it” that is aware?

SATORI translates into a flash of sudden awareness, or Enlightenment. It is sometimes loosely used interchangeably with Kensho, but Kensho refers to the first perception of True-Nature, sometimes referred to as "awakening". Kensho which is not a permanent state of enlightenment but a clear glimpse of the True Nature of existence, satori is used to refer to a "deep" or lasting state of enlightenment.
