National Women's Soccer League Supporters

This is a group for discussing the NWSL as well as global developments in womens' soccer. This is one of the few soccer spaces that focuses on the women's game, which is often ignored amid the large amount of attention the men's game gets in traditional media.  PLEAS KEEP YOUR POSTS FOCUSED ON THE WOMEN'S GAME WHILE HERE. Thank you! :)

Rules and guidelines below
NWSLS isn’t run by rules, per se. Rather, it is moderated by people who put themselves in the position of making difficult judgment calls.
Banned Topics:
- Hope Solo's legal/personal troubles: In short, it has nothing to do with soccer, didn't happen in a game, and is celebrity gossip news. If you want to debate guilt or innocence arguments in a courtroom setting, check out the many law groups on FB. This is about soccer.

- Hottest and Sexiest Soccer Player Lists: Again, not about soccer at all. This group is focused on women's soccer, not women's bodies. The Beautiful Game, not they beautiful face. Also there are plenty of places on FB to discuss hot women if that's what you're looking for. Lastly, some people tended to argue that such lists shouldn't be considered sexist or degrading because male players are featured on them too. However, male and female athletes have very different standing's in social, financial, and political power circles. You can look at the stands, media coverage, and paychecks to see this. Male athletes don't have to prove that they are more than a pretty face as a default and worth paying attention to on the field. Female athletes are fighting that battle everyday.

Group Rules - Debate the message, not the messenger. Criticize ideas, not people. Flaming will not be tolerated.
No member is allowed to engage in public personal attacks on any other member.
-Personal attacks are defined as Personal, Racial, Ethnic, and/or Gender based insults, slurs, or derisive comments.
- No broad based attacks on groups either. This goes for races, ethnicity, genders, sexes, and fan groups as well.
-No pornographic, sexually offensive, sexually explicit, or objectifying material. Administrator's judgment applies here.
-And of course, NO SPAMMING. No commercial-oriented posts, and no flooding with useless content.

- Keep all comments regarding match scores and outcomes within within official match threads if they exist (they likely will be there for all NWSL matches as well as WWC and USWNT matches). This prevents member experiences from being ruined if they couldn't watch the game live and also avoids spamming member feeds.

Member Guidelines
- Remember the aim of the NWSL Supporters is to bring people together, in order to share passion and strengthen the league consider what you’re posting and how it will be perceived, before you post.
- In most cases we do not actually know each other, try not to read into a person based on information that is not in a post. Give members the benefit of the doubt that there are gaps of information and complexity you are not seeing and don’t know unless you ask.
- Communicating via text is hard because human expression like tone, facial cues, and personal spacing are removed. Assume that the person you are talking to does not sound accusatory, condescending, or hateful. In most cases you would likely have a different impression in person.
- Smiley’s make the world better.
-No trolling. Don't make posts that are inflammatory just to get people riled up. Substance is the key to not being labeled a troll.
- Remember that the vast majority of people are actually here to talk about soccer. That’s what we are all in agreement of loving. A player’s personal legal struggles, relationship problems, financial troubles or the like can easily make this group a drain on people’s feeds. It’s proven too divisive and destructive, so leave it for your personal wall.
- Team passion is great, but remember your rivalry can only exist if a healthy league exists for it to thrive in. Don’t let your team passion turn ugly and drive people away from the game, or we all lose.
