ORGANIZING FOR FUTURE ELECTIONS

This group has been started by Roger Lake and friends that have come together in the 2012 election cycle. Our goal is to get more people active in the political process and help those that want to run for office in up coming elections. This is a Democratic Progressive Liberal Group who supported President Obama in the 2012 election.

YOU SHOULD TRY TO BECOME A DEMOCRATIC
PRECINCT COMMITTEE PERSON (PCP).

· Care passionately about today’s issues, your community, and your government.

· See a need to do something about who leads your Democratic party and your community.

· Like to stay informed about issues and party events, and personally meet Democratic candidates, party leaders.

· Want to "put a face" on the Democratic party in your neighborhoods and community? Elect local Democrats and help to set the party agenda in the county.

IF NOT YOU, THEN WHO?

WHAT ARE THE PCP SPECIAL POWERS & RESPONSIBILITIES?

· Represent Democrats in your precinct to the local Democratic party and vice versa.

· Attend quarterly county Democratic Party "Central Committee Meetings"

· Vote on official party business and resolutions of interest/concern locally.

· Elect (every TWO years) county party leadership and delegates to the State Platform Convention; Elect (every FOUR years) Congressional District party leadership and State delegates to the Democratic National Convention.

· Nominate replacement legislators for appointment by the county commissioners and replacement Democratic nominees if candidates withdraw after the Primary.

· Ensure that Democrats in your precinct get organized to elect Democrats nominees and endorsers.

Our goal is 2,500 members at this time.
Being a "Administrator" means being fair, allowing others their view point. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but not to change history or make-up their own facts. Lets have a good conversation/debate, encourage and support others to run for public office. Please be respectful to others, be "Progressive" and "Move Forward".
