Sierra Leone Risk Management & Insurance Forum

The Sierra Leone Risk Management and Insurance Forum is being set up as a dedicated platform for insurance and risk management professionals and other interested parties to discuss the role risk management and insurance can play in enhancing Sierra Leone's developmental aspirations.

New risk management and insurance ideas and proposals that can serve as a catalyst for sustainable public-private sector development will be discussed and highlighted to leaders of industries and policymakers.

It is envisaged that this forum will serve as the laboratory for intellectual professional debate with a view of creating new models and synergies between development, risk management and insurance solutions and techniques, as we seek to collectively address our country's perennial under-development problems.

We advocate a public-private partnership relationship in enhancing sustainable economic and financial services development through utilization of risk management and insurance principles and techniques.

We believe that the tragedy of life is not in reaching your goal but rather the tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. It is not a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled but a greater calamity, in our view not to dream.

Thus, all insurance professionals and others interested in the role risk management and insurance solutions can play in laying the foundations of a prosperous economic development in Sierra Leone are encouraged to discuss and put forth proactive systemic risk management- based proposals and suggestions that can further best practice reforms in the financial services sector and address issues such as constraints on land title transfers, retirement and pensions, catastrophe risks management and health and safety insurance.
