Arab American Student Union

The Arab Student Union at Wayne State University was founded in 2009. It was created-and will work-as a community organization, open to all members who share such interests.

The purpose of the ASU is to give means to Arab American Students by which they could associate with one another, along with Non-Arab Americans, and to create Arab-American awareness amongst Wayne State students (and the greater community). Goals for the organization will consist of promoting academic, cultural, political and social activities on the Wayne State campus and throughout communities, along with other functions and activities.

The group intends to carry out these goals and purposes through allowing fellow classmates and students of Wayne State to attend and be a part of ASU. From there, opinions and ideas can be implemented into our meetings, where the board of directors will be able to formulate different cultural, political and social activities. Fund raising and charity events can be held to promote financial needs for ASU and support other organizations.
