As we get older it is often easier to 'step back' and view events and developments with a clearer sense of perspective. The aim of this group is to assist this in respect by presenting a 'catalyst' capable of rekindling memories of days gone by in an entertaining manner. Looking through the pages of this group it may be surprising to see how much change has taken place in Darlington, some good, some bad.
The memories people are sharing here are fabulous to read. So many stories popping up of times gone by, the things some of you used to do as kids being remembered by others, some of you finding long lost friends, or an old work colleague.
Enjoy your walk down memory lane, we really hope you enjoy indulging in Darlingtons History.

This town is about its history, and regardless of sex, race or sexual orientation, please remember that.Do not come on this page/ group to incite violence, provoke, bully, or bleat on about religion.We all have the right to believe in what we want, and should be able to go about our everyday life as normal. I, like you, love our town,(thats why we are here..) and cannot control everything in it, but we expect people to feel free to contribute on here without being persecuted.
4. Pm's are Pm's- PRIVATE. If you want to have a keyboard battle about something irrelevant, do it there, nobody else needs to see.
5. The group name does not mean photos are limited to the dates 1880-1980. If it falls outside those dates then the photo will be accepted, photos deemed irrelevant i.e a nostalgic photo nothing to do with Darlington may be removed.
