Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA)

The Media Development and Diversity Agency (MDDA) is a statutory development agency for promoting and ensuring media development and diversity, set up as a partnership between the South African Government and major print and broadcasting companies to (amongst others) assist in developing community and small commercial media in South Africa, in terms of the MDDA Act No 14 of 2002.

It is a development Agency whose mission is to assist in building an environment where a diverse, vibrant and creative media flourishes and reflects the needs of all South Africans.

Its vision is to ensure that each and every SA citizen should have access to a choice of a diverse range of media.
