University of Lincoln Rowing Club

Founded in 2006, The University of Lincoln Rowing Club is based at Lincoln Rowing Centre and boats along a 14km stretch of the River Witham in the east of the city.

The main aim of the the club is to put together top crews to compete at the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Head of The River Race and Regatta each year, with a view to increase it's BUCS ranking.

The club also competes annually against the University of Derby Rowing Club in it's Varsity racing series, and looks to make up for a 2010 defeat with a strong performance in 2011. This will be the 5th time the two clubs will meet.

As well as BUCS and Varsity ULRC competes at many British Rowing events throughout the year. These events are used to build racing experience, and trial crews for their main events.

At the start of each year the club trials new members hoping to make it into one of the BUCS or Varsity boats. Many of the new members taken on have never rowed before and the club is committed to training and developing these members up to a good racing standard.
