There exist different kinds of Karelians and Karelias. There are karelians of Tver, of Aunus, of Salmi, of Repola, of Vuokkiniemi etc. And there are Karelians of Seesd’ärvi who live on the shore of Seesd’ärvi. D’ärvi means a lake. Sees means a serene.
