Pursuing her music career as a folk artist, Josephine, leaves college and her romance with a young man named Terrence. After continuous failure her band dwindles in morale and eventually abandons her. Josephine must make the decision to pursue her art in its discomfort and difficulty or to go back to the love and comfort of her past.
