Who we are.
The Ozark Bears is a social organization based in Springfield, Missouri.
Our organization consists of gay men from all over the region who consider themselves to be part of the Bear Community. Whether you think you're a bear or you just like hanging around bears this is the place for you! Everyone is welcome.
The group is here to help promote events and bring fellowship, fun and lasting friendships to the community. The group was founded in June of 2014. Currently the group does not require membership dues.
The purpose of this group is for all members to share and post events for the community. All events are welcome and everyone is encouraged to share events that relate to their interests! We also encourage you to share pictures from those events with the group. If you're needing some help finding a job, place to live, find/buy/sell an object or promote your business it's okay to post in the group but please limit posts to once a month.
Types of events we host: Parties (of various kinds), Dining out together, movies, trips, etc.
Anyone is free to schedule an event. Also, feel free to use the page to let guys know if you're going out to eat, to the movies, to the gym, etc. Who knows! You may have a small furry army join you!
Some guidelines for posting on the page.
1) No drama. If you have an issue with someone, take it up with THEM. Leave it off the page, or you will be banned from the Ozark Bears Facebook page.
2) Please make sure your posts are relevant to the group. This is a GROUP space, not your personal Facebook page. Please feel free to share the occasional dirty joke, meme, interesting post, etc, but just use common sense as important posts about events, new members, etc can get lost in the shuffle.
3) We're all adults here. If you object to something on the page, either contact an administrator OR the person who posted it. Having said that, no nudity on the page. Bulges, underwear, near-nudity, fine. Use common sense.
4) Make new friends! That's what we're here for!
The group is there to help promote events and build friendships in the community. The admins reserve the right to remove a post and notify the poster if there is a problem. Treat everyone as you would like to be treated!
