Does anyone remember that we had a Coal Mines in Gilmer County...Located outside of Sand Fork toward Glenville. My dad was Superintendent until it closed in 1966-67 not sure what year. Then we moved to Worthington wv. and he went to work at No.9 mines in Mannington wv.. the explosion was in 1968. Many of the students that went to GHS father died in that explosion including mine....
