I Grew Up in Stalybridge Goup is about sharing photographs, memories, general conversations and various venues visited by us at some point and of course folks asking (and hopefully receiving) information about it. :)
It's not just about reliving memories but also about making new ones on today's "new technology! Honestly, who would have thought it back then eh? :D It's also about future upcoming events where folks can meet, chat, catch-up, etc.
The group is for those folks who grew up in Stalybridge and who are probably older than, say 40??? Not being ageist at all - it's open to all, so long as you grew up here :)
The mission of the group is to keep Stalybridge alive and well. It's to, hopefully, bring community spirit back into being and the folks involved with it. It's to enrich, enliven and inform. As I said earlier, it's also hoped and, planning already progress, to reunite folks at outings/get-togethers, and hopefully perhaps eventually do something physically really constructive for our group.
Whilst this is a public group, as with all good groups, it has to be said that any person using foul language, abusive and/or threatening behaviour, will be blocked.
